ORIGIN STORY

Founder & CEO, Jacob Stewart, grew up traveling across Africa and observed first-hand the challenges faced by smallholder farmers. At a young age, he was inspired to return and work to unlock Africa's agricultural potential in global markets. 

After serving five years in the US Army, Jake opted to pursue a joint JD-MBA (law and business) degree at Northwestern University. It was there he recruited his founding team and launched Avocado Farm Trade in 2024.

AFT now employs over 400 people in Kenya, who are supported by a core team of agricultural and supply-chain specialists.
